Meet The Team - Bernhard "Börni" Jost

“Spring Sickness”, one of the very first Zoder-Songs, was written a long time ago by Börni and Zoder at the shore of lake Biel. Since then, Börni has been musically active in various other formations and also written his own songs (Like for example “I Can’t Forget It”). Since the work on the album "WeatherTales" he is on a musical journey with Zoder as a fixed band member.

Interview

Dear Börni, what did you have for breakfast today?
An open sandwich with tuna and one with chicken curry, which I bought at nine o'clock at the bakery nearby. I rarely have breakfast before that time of day.

What was your inspiration to start playing guitars?
It all started with the soundtrack of the movie "La Bamba", which tells the life story of Ritchie Valens. So, Rock'n'roll was the first spark. After that I was inspired by Angus Young and Jimi Hendrix in particular. At Christmas 1991 I got the first electric guitar, after rather unsucessful attempts on the classical guitar. It went on with the school band and first concerts.

Since then I have played in many bands and still find things that inspire me to continue.

What does music mean to you?
Music accompanies me through life in its different stages. Certain songs are firmly linked to a place or a feeling. Music belongs to one's own history like people, deeds and magic.

What do you like most about the new Zoder Album “WeatherTales”?
I especially like the stylistic range of the album and the guitar interplay between me and Sitä.

2020 was a very strange year. What are your wishes for 2021?
I wish that everyone stays healthy and that you can eat in a restaurant again without worries.
